Pharaoh's Dream

These free Pharaoh's Dream mazes come in three levels, so every child in your class gets a maze they can finish. Help Joseph find the way from the dungeon to Pharaoh!

  • Easy (ages 4–6): one path with no wrong turns.
  • Medium (grades K–2): two or three side paths that lead to dead ends.
  • Hard (grades 3–5): many wrong turns, with side paths branching off other side paths.

Each level downloads on its own, with or without an answer key, and every maze has the King James verse Genesis 41:16.

Talk about it: They brought Joseph hastily out of the dungeon (Genesis 41:14). Joseph said, "It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace" (Genesis 41:16). Pharaoh said, "there is none so discreet and wise as thou art" (Genesis 41:39).

Use them after the Pharaoh's Dream Sunday school lesson, with the crossword and word search.

The Bible story

Pharaoh dreamed that seven fat kine were eaten up by seven leanfleshed kine, and seven good ears of corn were devoured by seven thin ears, and none of the magicians could interpret it. The chief butler remembered Joseph, and he was brought hastily out of the dungeon. Joseph said, "It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace," and told him seven years of great plenty would come, then seven years of famine. Pharaoh set Joseph over his house, for there was "none so discreet and wise as thou art." Read the whole story in Genesis 41:1–40 (KJV).

Memory verse: "And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace." (Genesis 41:16, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
