These free Joseph and Potiphar mazes come in three levels, so every child in your class gets a maze they can finish. Help Joseph get out of the house and away from doing wrong!

  • Easy (ages 4–6): one path with no wrong turns.
  • Medium (grades K–2): two or three side paths that lead to dead ends.
  • Hard (grades 3–5): many wrong turns, with side paths branching off other side paths.

Each level downloads on its own, with or without an answer key, and every maze has the King James verse Genesis 39:9.

Talk about it: Joseph would not "sin against God" (Genesis 39:9). He "was fled forth" (Genesis 39:13). Even in the prison, "the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy" (Genesis 39:21).

Use them after the Joseph and Potiphar Sunday school lesson, with the crossword and word search.

The Bible story

Joseph was brought down to Egypt, and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, bought him. "The LORD was with Joseph," and Potiphar made him overseer over his house. When his master's wife asked him day by day to do wrong, Joseph refused and said, "how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" She blamed him, and his master put him into the prison; "But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy," and the keeper of the prison put all the prisoners into Joseph's hand. Read the whole story in Genesis 39:1–23 (KJV).

Memory verse: "There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" (Genesis 39:9, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
