Frequently asked questions

What is kids church?

Kids church (children's church) is a service just for children, usually held during the adult service. It has worship, a Bible story or lesson at their level, a memory verse, prayer and an activity or game.

What do you do in children's church?

A simple order works well. Welcome and a game, worship songs, the Bible story, questions and the memory verse, an activity or craft, then prayer. Our lessons and games are built to fit that order.

How long should children's church be?

Most last as long as the adult service, about 60–75 minutes. Change activities every 10–15 minutes, and keep the Bible story itself to about 10 minutes.

What age group is kids church for?

Usually ages 4–11, from preschool through 5th grade. Many churches keep toddlers in the nursery and move 6th graders to the youth group.
