Each level downloads on its own, with or without an answer key, and every maze has the King James verse Joshua 24:15.
Talk about it: Joshua said, "as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15). The people said, "The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey" (Joshua 24:24). Joshua set up a great stone under an oak to be a witness (Joshua 24:26–27).
Use them after the As for Me and My House Sunday school lesson, with the crossword and word search.
The Bible story
Joshua told all the people to fear the LORD, serve him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which their fathers served. He said, "choose you this day whom ye will serve... but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." The people answered, "God forbid that we should forsake the LORD," and said, "The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey." So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day in Shechem, wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and set up a great stone under an oak to be a witness. Read the whole story in Joshua 24:14–28 (KJV).
Memory verse: "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15, KJV). It is printed on every level.
Using the mazes in class
- Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
- Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
- Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.
Answer keys
Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
