The Christian Thanksgiving left right game puts a true Bible story inside a family favorite. Kids sit in a circle holding small treats while you read the story of the ten lepers from Luke 17. Every time they hear LEFT or RIGHT, they pass their treat that way, and the treat in their hands at the end is theirs to keep.
The story is a retelling for a game, but every event in it comes from Luke 17:11–19, and the reference is printed after each part. The words in quotation marks are from the King James Version.
The ten lepers story set: the lesson, craft, coloring page and puzzles for The Ten Lepers teach the same story and the same memory verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
Talk about it
When the treats stop moving, ask: how many men did Jesus heal? (Ten.) How many came back to say thank you? (One, Luke 17:15–16.) What has God done for you that you can thank Him for today? Read 1 Thessalonians 5:18 together.
Tips
- Read slowly and pause a beat after each LEFT and RIGHT. Kids love it when the words come quickly.
- Use small treats of the same size so nobody minds where they land.
- A big group can play with just 3 or 4 treats: only the players holding one at the end keep it.
- Pair it with Thanksgiving Bible bingo or Thanksgiving Bible trivia for a full church Thanksgiving party.
