- The Lord Is My Shepherd (Psalm 23)
This Lord Is My Shepherd worksheet comes in three free printable levels, so every class can use it. Easy (ages 4–6): kids circle the right word, circle the number and trace part of the memory verse. Medium (grades K–2): kids fill in eight story facts from a word box. Hard (grades 3–5): kids look up eight answers in Psalm 23 and write the memory verse from memory. Each level downloads by itself or with an answer key page.
How to use it
Teach the story first, then hand out the worksheet as review. Pick the level that fits your kids, or print two levels for a class with mixed ages. For pre-readers, read each sentence and both choices out loud and let them circle.
What's on each level
- Easy, ages 4–6: five sentences with two choices to circle (my shepherd, the still waters, God is with me, my cup, the house of the LORD), two "circle the number" questions (six verses; the rod and the staff) and "The LORD is my shepherd" to trace and copy.
- Medium, grades K–2: a word box and eight fill-in-the-blank lines from the psalm (green pastures, still waters, my soul, the paths of righteousness, the valley, the staff, the table, goodness and mercy), plus Psalm 23:1 with four missing words.
- Hard, grades 3–5: no word box. Kids read the verse given for each of eight questions and write the answer, write Psalm 23:1 with only the first letters given, and answer one "think about it" question.
- Answer keys: every level has one, with a Bible reference for each answer.
Tips
- For the hard level, give each child or pair a King James Bible open to Psalm 23.
- Early finishers can try the Lord Is My Shepherd word search, crossword or maze.
