Daniel 6

This Daniel in the lions' den worksheet comes in three free printable levels, so every class can use it. Easy (ages 4–6): kids circle the right word, circle the number and trace part of the memory verse. Medium (grades K–2): kids fill in eight story facts from a word box. Hard (grades 3–5): kids look up eight answers in Daniel 6 and write the memory verse from memory. Each level downloads by itself or with an answer key page.

How to use it

Teach the story first, then hand out the worksheet as review. Pick the level that fits your kids, or print two levels for a class with mixed ages. For pre-readers, read each sentence and both choices out loud and let them circle.

What's on each level

  • Easy, ages 4–6: five sentences with two choices to circle (Daniel prayed, the den of lions, the angel, the lions' shut mouths, the glad king), two "circle the number" questions (three times a day, thirty days) and "My God hath sent his angel" to trace and copy.
  • Medium, grades K–2: a word box and eight fill-in-the-blank facts (Daniel was faithful, the thirty-day law, the open windows, three times a day, the den of lions, the stone, the king who couldn't sleep, the angel), plus Daniel 6:22 with four missing words.
  • Hard, grades 3–5: no word box. Kids read the verse given for each of eight questions and write the answer, write Daniel 6:22 with only the first letters given, and answer one "think about it" question.
  • Answer keys: every level has one, with a Bible reference for each answer.

Tips

  • For the hard level, give each child or pair a King James Bible open to Daniel 6.
  • Daniel 6:22 is a long verse. Younger kids can learn the first part ("My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions mouths"); older kids can learn it all.
  • Early finishers can try the Daniel in the Lions' Den word search.
