Talk about it: She went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel (2 Kings 4:25). When Gehazi asked, "is it well with the child?" she answered, "It is well" (2 Kings 4:26). Elisha "prayed unto the LORD" (2 Kings 4:33), and "the child opened his eyes" (2 Kings 4:35).

The Bible story

A great woman in Shunem saw that Elisha was "an holy man of God," and asked her husband to make him a little chamber on the wall with a bed, a table, a stool and a candlestick. Elisha said she would embrace a son, and she bare a son at that season, but when the child was grown he said to his father, "My head, my head," and he died. She laid him on the bed of the man of God and rode to Elisha at mount Carmel, saying, "It is well," and she would not leave him. Elisha came, shut the door, prayed unto the LORD and stretched himself upon the child, and the child sneezed seven times and opened his eyes, and Elisha said, "Take up thy son." Read the whole story in 2 Kings 4:8–37 (KJV).

Memory verse: "Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well." (2 Kings 4:26, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys
