Talk about it: The angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth (Luke 1:26). He said, "Fear not, Mary" (Luke 1:30), and Mary answered, "be it unto me according to thy word" (Luke 1:38).

The Bible story

God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, to a virgin named Mary who was promised in marriage to Joseph. Gabriel said, "Fear not, Mary": she would have a son and call His name JESUS. Mary trusted God and said, "Be it unto me according to thy word." Read the whole story in Luke 1:26–38 (KJV).

Memory verse: "And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS." (Luke 1:31, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
