Talk about it: The woman "came and fell at his feet" (Mark 7:25). She said, "Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs" (Mark 7:28). When she came home, she found her daughter well and "laid upon the bed" (Mark 7:30).

The Bible story

Jesus went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and a woman, "a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation," whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, came and fell at his feet and besought him to cast the devil out of her daughter. Jesus said, "Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs." She answered, "Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs." Jesus said, "For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter," and when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed. Read the whole story in Mark 7:24–30 (KJV).

Memory verse: "And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter." (Mark 7:29, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
