These free Ark of the Covenant mazes come in three levels, so every child in your class gets a maze they can finish. Help Moses find the way to the ark, where God said He would meet with him!

  • Easy (ages 4–6): one path with no wrong turns.
  • Medium (grades K–2): two or three side paths that lead to dead ends.
  • Hard (grades 3–5): many wrong turns, with side paths branching off other side paths.

Each level downloads on its own, with or without an answer key, and every maze has the King James verse Exodus 25:22.

Talk about it: God told Moses to overlay the ark "with pure gold, within and without" (Exodus 25:11). On the mercy seat went two cherubims of gold (Exodus 25:18). God said, "there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee" (Exodus 25:22).

Use them after the The Ark of the Covenant Bible story page, with the crossword and word search.

The Bible story

The LORD told Moses how to make an ark of shittim wood, overlaid with pure gold "within and without," with four rings of gold and staves of shittim wood so it could be borne. On it went a mercy seat of pure gold with two cherubims of gold, whose wings covered the mercy seat, and in the ark went the testimony that God would give. God said, "there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat." Read the whole story in Exodus 25:10–22 (KJV).

Memory verse: "And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel." (Exodus 25:22, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
