- Balaam's Donkey
This Balaam's Donkey worksheet comes in three free printable levels, so every class can use it. Easy (ages 4–6): kids circle the right word, circle the number and trace part of the memory verse. Medium (grades K–2): kids fill in eight story facts from a word box. Hard (grades 3–5): kids look up eight answers in Numbers 22 and write the memory verse from memory. Each level downloads by itself or with an answer key page.
How to use it
Teach the story first, then hand out the worksheet as review. Pick the level that fits your kids, or print two levels for a class with mixed ages. For pre-readers, read each sentence and both choices out loud and let them circle.
What's on each level
- Easy, ages 4–6: five sentences with two choices to circle (a donkey, an angel, a sword, the mouth, "I have sinned"), two "circle the number" questions (two servants; three times) and "only the word that I shall speak" to trace and copy.
- Medium, grades K–2: a word box and eight fill-in-the-blank facts (the morning, the princes, two servants, the sword, the wall, the staff, the donkey's mouth, "I have sinned"), plus Numbers 22:35 with four missing words.
- Hard, grades 3–5: no word box. Kids read the verse given for each of eight questions and write the answer, write Numbers 22:35 with only the first letters given, and answer one "think about it" question.
- Answer keys: every level has one, with a Bible reference for each answer.
Tips
- For the hard level, give each child or pair a King James Bible open to Numbers 22.
- Early finishers can try the Balaam's Donkey word search, crossword or maze.
