- Joshua, Caleb and the Twelve Spies
This Joshua, Caleb and the Twelve Spies worksheet comes in three free printable levels, so every class can use it. Easy (ages 4–6): kids circle the right word, circle the number and trace part of the memory verse. Medium (grades K–2): kids fill in eight story facts from a word box. Hard (grades 3–5): kids look up eight answers in Numbers 13–14 and write the memory verse from memory. Each level downloads by itself or with an answer key page.
How to use it
Teach the story first, then hand out the worksheet as review. Pick the level that fits your kids, or print two levels for a class with mixed ages. For pre-readers, read each sentence and both choices out loud and let them circle.
What's on each level
- Easy, ages 4–6: five sentences with two choices to circle (the land, grapes, milk and honey, grasshoppers, "the LORD is with us"), two "circle the number" questions (forty days; two men on a staff) and "Be strong and of a good courage" to trace and copy.
- Medium, grades K–2: a word box and eight fill-in-the-blank facts (search the land, a cluster of grapes, forty days, milk and honey, Caleb, the giants, an exceeding good land, "fear them not"), plus Joshua 1:9 with four missing words.
- Hard, grades 3–5: no word box. Kids read the verse given for each of eight questions and write the answer, write Joshua 1:9 with only the first letters given, and answer one "think about it" question.
- Answer keys: every level has one, with a Bible reference for each answer.
Tips
- For the hard level, give each child or pair a King James Bible open to Numbers 13–14.
- Early finishers can try the Joshua, Caleb and the Twelve Spies word search, crossword or maze.
