The Bible story
Peter asked Jesus how oft he should forgive his brother, "till seven times?" Jesus said, "Until seventy times seven," and told of a certain king whose servant owed him ten thousand talents; the servant fell down and said, "Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all," and the lord was moved with compassion and forgave him the debt. But that same servant found a fellowservant which owed him an hundred pence, would not have patience with him, and cast him into prison. The lord called him and said, "O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt," and Jesus said, "So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses." Read the whole story in Matthew 18:21–35 (KJV).
Memory verse: "Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven." (Matthew 18:22, KJV). It is printed on every level.
Using the mazes in class
- Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
- Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
- Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.
Answer keys
