The Bible story
Jesus told about a man travelling into a far country who delivered his goods to his servants: five talents to one, two to another, and one to another, "to every man according to his several ability." The servant with five talents traded and made them other five talents, and likewise he with two gained other two, and their lord said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." The servant with one talent was afraid and hid his lord's money in the earth, and the talent was taken from him and given unto him which had ten talents. Read the whole story in Matthew 25:14–30 (KJV).
Memory verse: "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Matthew 25:21, KJV). It is printed on every level.
Using the mazes in class
- Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
- Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
- Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.
Answer keys
Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
