King Manasseh

These free King Manasseh mazes come in three levels, so every child in your class gets a maze they can finish. Help Manasseh find the way from Babylon back to Jerusalem!

  • Easy (ages 4–6): one path with no wrong turns.
  • Medium (grades K–2): two or three side paths that lead to dead ends.
  • Hard (grades 3–5): many wrong turns, with side paths branching off other side paths.

Each level downloads on its own, with or without an answer key, and every maze has the King James verse 2 Chronicles 33:13.

Talk about it: In Babylon, Manasseh "humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers" (2 Chronicles 33:12). God heard him "and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom" (2 Chronicles 33:13). "Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God" (2 Chronicles 33:13).

Use them after the King Manasseh Sunday school lesson, with the crossword and word search.

The Bible story

Manasseh "was twelve years old when he began to reign," but he "did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD," building altars for Baalim and setting an idol in the house of God. The LORD spake to Manasseh and to his people, "but they would not hearken," so the captains of the king of Assyria bound him with fetters and carried him to Babylon. There he "humbled himself greatly" and prayed, and God heard him and brought him again to Jerusalem: "Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God." He took the idol out of the house of the LORD, repaired the altar of the LORD, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel. Read the whole story in 2 Chronicles 33:1–20 (KJV).

Memory verse: "And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God." (2 Chronicles 33:13, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
