The Bible story

Joseph could not refrain himself, so he sent every man out and made himself known unto his brethren, and he wept aloud. He said, "I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life." He told them to haste and bring his father down to dwell in the land of Goshen, near him, for there were yet five years of famine. Then he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck and wept, and he kissed all his brethren, and after that his brethren talked with him. Read the whole story in Genesis 45:1–15 (KJV).

Memory verse: "Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life." (Genesis 45:5, KJV). It is printed on every level.

  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
