Talk about it: The master said, "Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city" (Luke 14:21). The servant said, "Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room" (Luke 14:22). The lord said, "compel them to come in, that my house may be filled" (Luke 14:23).

Use them after the The Parable of the Great Supper Sunday school lesson, with the crossword and word search.

The Bible story

Jesus told about a certain man who "made a great supper, and bade many," and sent his servant to say, "Come; for all things are now ready." But "they all with one consent began to make excuse": one had bought a piece of ground, one had bought five yoke of oxen, and one had married a wife. So the master sent his servant to bring in "the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind," and then into "the highways and hedges," "that my house may be filled." Read the whole story in Luke 14:15–24 (KJV).

Memory verse: "And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready." (Luke 14:17, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
