The Bible story

Caleb came to Joshua in Gilgal and remembered how Moses sent him from Kadesh-barnea to espy out the land when he was forty years old, and how "I wholly followed the LORD my God." Now he was fourscore and five years old (85), and he said, "As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me." The Anakims were in that land, but Caleb said, "Now therefore give me this mountain," and "if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out." Joshua blessed him and gave him Hebron for an inheritance. Read the whole story in Joshua 14:6–15 (KJV).

Memory verse: "Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God." (Joshua 14:8, KJV). It is printed on every level.

  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys
