- Rehoboam and the Divided Kingdom
This Rehoboam and the Divided Kingdom worksheet comes in three free printable levels, so every class can use it. Easy (ages 4–6): kids circle the right word, circle the number and trace part of the memory verse. Medium (grades K–2): kids fill in eight story facts from a word box. Hard (grades 3–5): kids look up eight answers in 1 Kings 12 and write the memory verse from memory. Each level downloads by itself or with an answer key page.
How to use it
Teach the story first, then hand out the worksheet as review. Pick the level that fits your kids, or print two levels for a class with mixed ages. For pre-readers, read each sentence and both choices out loud and let them circle.
What's on each level
- Easy, ages 4–6: five sentences with two choices to circle (king, a lighter yoke, good words, the young men, roughly), two "circle the number" questions (three days; two groups he asked) and "speak good words to them" to trace and copy.
- Medium, grades K–2: a word box and eight fill-in-the-blank facts (Shechem, Jeroboam, the yoke, three days, the old men, forsook, roughly, Judah), plus 1 Kings 12:7 with four missing words.
- Hard, grades 3–5: no word box. Kids read the verse given for each of eight questions and write the answer, write 1 Kings 12:7 with only the first letters given, and answer one "think about it" question.
- Answer keys: every level has one, with a Bible reference for each answer.
Tips
- For the hard level, give each child or pair a King James Bible open to 1 Kings 12.
- Early finishers can try the Rehoboam and the Divided Kingdom word search, crossword or maze.
