The Golden Calf

This Golden Calf worksheet comes in three free printable levels, so every class can use it. Easy (ages 4–6): kids circle the right word, circle the number and trace part of the memory verse. Medium (grades K–2): kids fill in eight story facts from a word box. Hard (grades 3–5): kids look up eight answers in Exodus 32 and write the memory verse from memory. Each level downloads by itself or with an answer key page.

How to use it

Teach the story first, then hand out the worksheet as review. Pick the level that fits your kids, or print two levels for a class with mixed ages. For pre-readers, read each sentence and both choices out loud and let them circle.

What's on each level

  • Easy, ages 4–6: five sentences with two choices to circle (the mount, gold, a calf, two tables, forgive), two "circle the number" questions (two tables; both sides) and "no other gods before me" to trace and copy.
  • Medium, grades K–2: a word box and eight fill-in-the-blank facts (Moses delayed, the golden earrings, a molten calf, an altar, the two tables, a noise in the camp, ground to powder, "if thou wilt forgive their sin"), plus Exodus 20:3 with four missing words.
  • Hard, grades 3–5: no word box. Kids read the verse given for each of eight questions and write the answer, write Exodus 20:3 with only the first letters given, and answer one "think about it" question.
  • Answer keys: every level has one, with a Bible reference for each answer.
