Talk about it: The Holy Ghost said, "Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them" (Acts 13:2). At Lystra Paul said, "Stand upright on thy feet" (Acts 14:10), and the man "leaped and walked" (Acts 14:10). They told the people to "turn from these vanities unto the living God" (Acts 14:15).
Use them after the Paul and Barnabas Sunday school lesson, with the crossword and word search.
The Bible story
In the church at Antioch, the Holy Ghost said, "Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them," and they were sent forth to preach the word of God. At Lystra, Paul said to a man who never had walked, "Stand upright on thy feet," and "he leaped and walked." When the people would have done sacrifice unto them as gods, Barnabas and Paul ran in among them, saying, "We also are men of like passions with you," and told them to "turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea." Afterward some stoned Paul and drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead, but he rose up, and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. Read the whole story in Acts 13:1–5; Acts 14:8–20 (KJV).
Memory verse: "As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them." (Acts 13:2, KJV). It is printed on every level.
Using the mazes in class
- Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
- Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
- Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.
Answer keys
Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
