Each level downloads on its own, with or without an answer key, and every maze has the King James verse 2 Samuel 9:7.

Talk about it: King David sent, and fetched Mephibosheth from Lo-debar (2 Samuel 9:5). David said, "Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake" (2 Samuel 9:7). The king said Mephibosheth would "eat at my table, as one of the king's sons" (2 Samuel 9:11).

Use them after the David and Mephibosheth Bible story page, with the crossword and word search.

The Bible story

King David asked, "Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him?" Ziba told him that Jonathan had a son "which is lame on his feet," living in Lo-debar. David fetched Mephibosheth, said to him, "Fear not," restored to him all the land of Saul, and Mephibosheth did eat bread at the king's table "as one of the king's sons." Read the whole story in 2 Samuel 9:1–13 (KJV).

Memory verse: "And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually." (2 Samuel 9:7, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
