The Bible story

Supper being ended, Jesus rose from supper, "laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself," then poured water into a bason and began to wash the disciples’ feet. Peter said, "Thou shalt never wash my feet," but Jesus answered, "If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me." Then Jesus said, "For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you." Read the whole story in John 13:1–17 (KJV).

Memory verse: "For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you." (John 13:15, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
