These free Good Shepherd mazes come in three levels, so every child in your class gets a maze they can finish. Help the sheep find the way through the door to the pasture!

  • Easy (ages 4–6): one path with no wrong turns.
  • Medium (grades K–2): two or three side paths that lead to dead ends.
  • Hard (grades 3–5): many wrong turns, with side paths branching off other side paths.

Each level downloads on its own, with or without an answer key, and every maze has the King James verse John 10:11.

Talk about it: The sheep follow the shepherd, "for they know his voice" (John 10:4). Jesus said, "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture" (John 10:9). "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep" (John 10:11).

Use them after the The Good Shepherd Bible story page, with the crossword and word search.

The Bible story

Jesus said the shepherd enters by the door of the sheepfold, calls his own sheep by name and leads them out, and the sheep follow him, "for they know his voice." Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." When an hireling sees the wolf coming, he leaves the sheep and flees, but Jesus knows His sheep, and they hear His voice. Read the whole story in John 10:1–18 (KJV).

Memory verse: "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:11, KJV). It is printed on every level.

Using the mazes in class

  • Give each child the level they can finish: the easy maze for ages 4–6, medium for kindergarten to 2nd grade, hard for 3rd to 5th grade.
  • Tell the story first, then let kids trace the path with a finger before they use a pencil or crayon.
  • Say the memory verse together when they reach the end, then read the "Talk about it" box on the sheet.

Answer keys

Each level downloads two ways: the puzzle on its own, or with a second page that shows the answer (the path drawn in red). Print the key for helpers, or let kids check their own work.
