This free Priscilla and Aquila Sunday school lesson teaches kids to serve God together. Paul found Aquila and his wife Priscilla in Corinth, "for by their occupation they were tentmakers" (Acts 18:3). Later, in Ephesus, they heard Apollos and "expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly" (18:26). It comes in four age levels, each a separate printable teacher lesson, plus one take-home sheet for families. Pick the one that fits your class. Everything is in the order you teach it.
Choose your age level
- Preschool (ages 3–5), 20–30 minutes, 2 pages: a short story with hand motions and repeat-after-me lines, a make-a-tent game, three simple questions, a shortened memory verse ("they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly") with a motion, and a helpers-together activity with a drawing.
- Kindergarten to 2nd grade, 45 minutes, 3 pages: the story in simple words, five recall questions with answers, the Tent Peg Path verse game with six cards, and Two Helping Hands.
- 3rd to 5th grade, 45–60 minutes, 4 pages: kids look up verses in their own Bibles during a fuller story (Corinth, the tentmakers, Ephesus, Apollos and what came next in Acts 19), five thinking questions and three recall questions, and a Bible look-up race.
- Preteens (ages 11–12), 45–60 minutes, 3 pages: students read Acts 18 and 19:1–6 out loud themselves, then discuss serving God in ordinary work, helping with kindness, and staying humble. Six discussion questions, a journal page, and two memory verses (Acts 18:26 and Ecclesiastes 4:9).

Tips for teaching Priscilla and Aquila
- The Bible says they were tentmakers (Acts 18:3) but doesn't say how they made tents. Let kids imagine, but teach what the passage says.
- Apollos knew "only the baptism of John" (Acts 18:25). Older levels look ahead to Acts 19:1–6, where disciples who knew only John's baptism were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus and received the Holy Ghost.
- Short on time? Do the story, three questions and the memory verse. That is a solid 25-minute lesson.
Frequently asked questions
How long does this Priscilla and Aquila lesson take?
It depends on the age level. The preschool lesson takes 20 to 30 minutes, the kindergarten to 2nd grade lesson about 45 minutes, and the 3rd to 5th grade and preteen lessons 45 to 60 minutes. For a short class, do the story, three questions and the memory verse.
Who were Priscilla and Aquila in the Bible?
Aquila was a Jew, and Priscilla was his wife. Paul found them in Corinth, and because he was of the same craft, he abode with them and wrought, "for by their occupation they were tentmakers" (Acts 18:2–3). They sailed with Paul to Ephesus (18:18–19).
What did Priscilla and Aquila teach Apollos?
Apollos was "an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures," but he knew "only the baptism of John." When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, "they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly" (Acts 18:24–26).
