- Jesus Dies on the Cross
Print this Jesus Dies on the Cross coloring page to go with your lesson on Matthew 26–27; Luke 23.
Tell the story while they color: Jesus died for our sins. "When they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him." He "said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit." That evening Joseph of Arimathaea "took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone" (Luke 23:33, 46, 53). The cross is empty, and three days later the angels said, "He is not here, but is risen" (Luke 24:6).
Ask: Romans 5:8 says Christ died for us "while we were yet sinners." What does the empty cross tell you about how much God loves you?
