Rhoda and Peter in Prison for Kids: Bible Story & Printables
The story in a nutshell
Herod the king put Peter in prison, "but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him." That night the angel of the Lord came, a light shined in the prison, Peter's chains fell off from his hands, and the iron gate opened "of his own accord." Peter came to the house of Mary the mother of John Mark, where many were gathered together praying, and knocked at the door of the gate. A damsel named Rhoda knew Peter's voice and for gladness ran in without opening the gate; they said, "Thou art mad," but when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.
