Gideon

Use this word search after you teach Gideon (Judges 6–7).

The story: God chose Gideon, who said he was the least in his father's house, to save Israel from the Midianites. God made Gideon's army smaller and smaller, down to 300 men with trumpets, pitchers and lamps, so Israel could not say, "Mine own hand hath saved me."

Talk about it: Big idea: God uses the weak, Courage, Trust. Which word from the puzzle reminds you most of the story?

Three levels: easy (ages 4–6) has 6 big words that go only across and down; medium (grades K–2) has 10 words that also go diagonally; hard (grades 3–5) has 15 words that go every direction, even backwards. Each downloads with or without an answer key.
