Deborah and Barak Crossword for Kids (Easy, Medium and Hard)

These free Deborah and Barak crossword puzzles come in three levels, so every reader in your class can finish one. Every answer comes from the King James Bible (Judges 4:1–24), and each level downloads with or without an answer key.

• Easy (ages 5–7): short answers, simple clues and a word box to pick from.
• Medium (grades K–2): more words and no word box.
• Hard (grades 3–5): kids look up each verse in their Bible to find the answer.

The Bible story

Jabin king of Canaan had nine hundred chariots of iron, and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD. Deborah, a prophetess who judged Israel under the palm tree of Deborah, called Barak to take ten thousand men to mount Tabor, and when Barak would not go unless she went, she said, "I will surely go with thee." Deborah said, "Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand," and the LORD discomfited Sisera and all his chariots. Sisera fled away on his feet and died in the tent of Jael, so God subdued Jabin before the children of Israel. Read the whole story in Judges 4:1–24 (KJV).

Memory verse: "And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the LORD gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him." (Judges 4:14, KJV). It is printed on every level.
