David and Jonathan

Print this David and Jonathan coloring page to go with your lesson on 1 Samuel 18–20.

Tell the story while they color: "The soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. Then Jonathan and David made a covenant." Jonathan gave David his robe, "and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle" (1 Samuel 18:1, 3–4).

Ask: Jonathan was a true friend to David. What is one way you can be a good friend this week?
