Frequently asked questions
How long should a church Christmas program be?
For kids, 15–25 minutes total. Combine one short skit (5–8 minutes) with 3–4 carols and a scripture reading.
What carols can kids sing in a Christmas program?
Public-domain carols like Away in a Manger, Silent Night, Joy to the World and O Come, All Ye Faithful work for every age. See our list of Christmas songs for church kids.
How do I give every child a part?
Add extra angels, shepherds and townspeople. Let shy kids hold the star, ring bells or carry signs, and let confident readers take narrator lines.
