- The Parable of the Sower
This Parable of the Sower worksheet comes in three free printable levels, so every class can use it. Easy (ages 4–6): kids circle the right word, circle the number and trace part of the memory verse. Medium (grades K–2): kids fill in eight story facts from a word box. Hard (grades 3–5): kids look up eight answers in Matthew 13 and write the memory verse from memory. Each level downloads by itself or with an answer key page.
How to use it
Teach the story first, then hand out the worksheet as review. Pick the level that fits your kids, or print two levels for a class with mixed ages. For pre-readers, read each sentence and both choices out loud and let them circle.
What's on each level
- Easy, ages 4–6: five sentences with two choices to circle (the ship, the fowls, scorched, the thorns, fruit), two "circle the number" questions (four places the seed fell; an hundredfold) and "an honest and good heart" to trace and copy.
- Medium, grades K–2: a word box and eight fill-in-the-blank facts (the multitudes, the ship, the sower, the fowls, stony places, no root, the thorns choked them, ears to hear), plus Luke 8:15 with four missing words.
- Hard, grades 3–5: no word box. Kids read the verse given for each of eight questions and write the answer, write Luke 8:15 with only the first letters given, and answer one "think about it" question.
- Answer keys: every level has one, with a Bible reference for each answer.
Tips
- For the hard level, give each child or pair a King James Bible open to Matthew 13.
- Early finishers can try the Parable of the Sower word search, crossword or maze.
