Easy (ages 4–6): kids circle the right word, circle the number and trace part of the memory verse. Medium (grades K–2): kids fill in eight story facts from a word box. Hard (grades 3–5): kids look up eight answers in 1 Kings 18 and write the memory verse from memory. Each level downloads by itself or with an answer key page.

How to use it

Teach the story first, then hand out the worksheet as review. Pick the level that fits your kids, or print two levels for a class with mixed ages. For pre-readers, read each sentence and both choices out loud and let them circle.

What's on each level

  • Easy, ages 4–6: five sentences with two choices to circle (no answer from Baal, twelve stones, the altar, the water, the fire of the LORD), two "circle the number" questions (twelve stones; four barrels) and "The LORD, he is the God" to trace and copy.
  • Medium, grades K–2: a word box and eight fill-in-the-blank facts (mount Carmel, Baal, no voice, twelve stones, the trench, four barrels of water, the fire of the LORD, the little cloud), plus 1 Kings 18:39 with four missing words.
  • Hard, grades 3–5: no word box. Kids read the verse given for each of eight questions and write the answer, write 1 Kings 18:39 with only the first letters given, and answer one "think about it" question.
  • Answer keys: every level has one, with a Bible reference for each answer.
